How To Meditate

The most important moments we spend in life are those spent in the presence of God.  In order to place ourselves in His presence find a place where you will not be distracted.  Grant yourself a specific body of time that will be committed to this experience.  Begin by centering your mind.  A good way to do so is to breathe deeply through your nose.  Breathe deeply, hold it about 30 seconds, and let it out very slowly.  Do this three or four times.  This practice will up your oxygen level, and clear your mind. It will also cause your muscles to relax.

You have now closed out the physical world.  Allow your mind to float. Let it float.  Let thoughts come as they will ... good and bad.  After a while you will be totally centered.  Then think of God's created order and the beauty of it all. Thank Him.  Praise Him.  Express your love for Him.    Now turn to the meditation of the day.  Allow Him to speak to you through it.
