Charles E. Hughes

Charles E. Hughes was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1951. He is the son of Wade M.and Delores Hughes. His father is an active pastor in Frankfort, Kentucky. Charles spent eleven years in the U.S. Army. He is a Vietnam Veteran. He was awarded the Bronze Star and two Army Commendation Medals among other awards and decorations during his service. He left the Army in 1980 to pastor and complete his education. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy form Atlantic Christian College, Wilson, North Carolina and Master of Divinity from Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). His elder's orders were recognized in The United Methodist Church. He has been a pastor for twenty years and currently serves the Bowen/Plymouth Charge in Illinois. He has a son and a daughter and two step children. His wife, Kathleen, is the pastor of the Augusta/Huntsville Charge in Illinois.
