In preparing for this service:
1. Invite family members of members who have died in
the past year.
2. Write a short eulogy for each deceased member and
place them in a booklet to be given out at the service.
3. Place a candle on the altar for each deceased
person.
4. Read the Eulogy of each person during the service.
5. Have a family member to light the candle while the
Eulogy is read.
Plan to spend 10 to 15 minutes of time for this remembrance experience during the service. The main thing is to make this an important day. The congregation and members of the decease's family will appreciate your gift.

The church is of God and will be preserved to the end of time,
For the conduct of worship and the due administration of
God's Word and Sacraments.
For the maintenance of Christian fellowship and discipline, the
edification of believers, and the conversion of the world.
All of every age and station, stand in need of the means of
grace which it alone supplies.

Prayers of the People (Unison)
Eternal God, from whom we come and unto whom our spirits return,
in thy service we find our peace and by thy grace we are saved;
hear us now as we pray.
We thank thee for all those who have successfully run this race, and
kept the faith. We thank thee for their triumphs over evil, and their
courage in times of difficulty. We thank thee for their good examples of
character, and their joy of living.
Today, 0 Lord, we rejoice in remembering the lives of those who have
helped shape the length and breadth and depth and height of our being.
You blessed them in th is life. We believe that your grace continues with
them even now.
0 Lord, grant us such triumphs in our living so that the day will come
when we will join them in the true reward of life; namely, to dwell with
and in your presence for all eternity. In Christ's name we pray. Amen.
