Advent Candle Light Ceremony Instructions

1. Family should read through the ceremony together at home before coming to church and decide what member is going to lead each part.

2.  Meet one half hour before worship to practice the ceremony in the Sanctuary with an actual run through of the ceremony.

3.  Practice reading before the microphone ...remembering to stay about 18 inches away from the mike.

4.  Take the Candle Lighter and get the fire from the altar.

5.  When the candles are lit have one member of the family to read the script, and another to light the candles.  Be sure to name the candle, and then light it.  Take your time, and be intentional.  Remember you are doing this on behalf of the congregation.  They are all with and behind you.
