Advent:  Third Sunday

Choral Introit

Litany

Reader A:  Rejoice greatly!  Shout with Joy!
For we will see the glory of the Lord.

Be strong and do not fear.
For God will come to save us.

Scripture
Reader B:  St. Luke:1:47-55

Lighting of the First, Second, and Third Candles

Reader A:   As we come to light the Advent Wreath, we recall:   The first candle reminds us to live the spirit of peace

... the second candle reminds us to be hopeful

... and now the Third  candle calls us to joy, for God will come to save us.
Prayer
Reader B:
Let us pray:   O God, this is truly a season of joy, for you have come to us through your Son, Jesus Christ.  May there always be praise on our lips and joy in our hearts as we look forward to your coming again.  Amen.

Choral Introit to be sung again. *
